The Last Post

We report belatedly the death of Norman Leslie Flatters on 14th May. He served with the Royal Army Service Corps, assigned to the Allied Military Government staff.

We have learned that Peter Leslie Gray passed away on 30th March Our thoughts are with his daughter and with those who served with him in the TSO staff.

It is with great sadness that we report the death of Frederick Barker MBE on 15th March. His wife, May, told Colin Russell that Fred had spent several months in hospital. Our thoughts are with his family and friends who served with him in the Loyals Regiment.

The BETFOR Association: Certificate of Incorporation

Companies House have accepted the submission of BETFOR ASSOCIATION for the issuance of a Certificate of Incorporation of a Private Limited Company.

This act is the gift of a sincere friend of the Association who has paid for it on our behalf, to legally safeguard the name "BETFOR Association", and to prevent the unauthorized use of that name by others. No funds of the Association were expended on this matter.

The impact of this action on the present plans of and for the Association is now being studied, and will be reported as soon as possible.

The BETFOR Association: Termination of Operations

The following is a true copy of the 25th February letter from the management Committee of the BETFOR Association to the members of the Association:

This Association ceases to exist as from 14th March 2008.

The reference in the above letter to 'Headley Court' is more properly to the Defence Services Medical Rehabilitation Centre (DSMRC) Headley Court. Their external support is largely derived through the Registered Charity Help for Heroes. The interaction between these two organisations has recently been discussed both on this website and in its Message Board.

What follows is a transcription of the acknowledgement letter received from Help for Heroes with reference to our distribution of funds to that worthy charity. The quality of the letter image presented to this writer was not adequate for placement on our website.
