Heritage of the BETFOR and XIII Corps Formations
Trieste and Venezia Giulia, 1945-1954

This will be, for some time to come, a working document on the heritage of the U.K. Regiments and Corps which served in Venezia Giulia and the Free Territory of Trieste from 1945 to 1954.

This includes both the post-war occupation duty of XIII Corps, from May 1945 to September 1947, and the peacekeeping duty under United Nations auspices of BETFOR, from September 1947 to September 1954.

There are almost certainly errors in the information herein, and it is only by you calling our attention to them that they can be corrected.

More importantly, there are other formations which need to be included, and many links still to be provided for Associations, Museums, Clubs, Chapels, etc., all of which will serve to give a more complete record.

Please direct your additions, suggestions, corrections, and comments to Pat Skelly. Thank you.
