1st London Irish Rifles May 45 - Dec 46 from 167 (L) Inf Bde
My father Lt GSG Nash (unfrotunately he died in 1987) was a member of the 1st LIR stationed during this period in Trieste. He was part of the HQ unit at Miramare Castle as I understand and involved in the rescue of some civilians from minefields around the castle circa Sept 45.
Any one who has more information about this period I would be grateful, as I try to trace Dad's wartime footsteps. Though not too reticent about the war his "stories" were incidents and not a coherent chronology.
