Request for information

Dear All,

I am in possession of the Certificate of Service of my late uncle Richard Swarbrick. In the section detailing his service there is the entry "BETFOR 9/12/49 - 1/4/53." At the time of this posting Dick was serving in the R.A.V.C. - having previously served in The Loyal Regiment.

Can anyone help me as to what Dick might have been doing through this time? Did BETFOR have horses, mules, camels?
